How does Delta status work?

Delta has four tiers of elite status: Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. You can earn status by flying and spending enough (see below) within a single calendar year, and once earned you’ll keep it through the following calendar year. So if you earn Gold status in July 2020, you’ll keep it through the end of 2021.

Is Gold status on Delta worth it?

Gold Medallion Status is, of course, better when it comes to upgrades – but not by much. You’ll get more upgrades to Comfort Plus than with Silver status, and they clear 72 hours in advance. But getting into First Class is still hard to come by with even Gold status, though you may get a few upgrades.

Does Amex Gold get you into Delta Sky Club?

Flyers with lower levels of Delta status can get into the Sky Club, too – but only on certain flights. If you’ve got Delta’s Gold or Platinum Medallion status, you can get into the Sky Club free when traveling internationally on Delta or a SkyTeam airline – even if you’re flying economy.

How long does Delta status last?

Does Delta silver get lounge access?

Being a Silver Medallion does not grant you access to any lounge. To get access to Delta Sky Clubs or partner airline lounges you will have to be a Gold Medallion or above flying on international itineraries. If you are a SkyTeam Elite Plus member, you will have access to Sky Clubs on international itineraries.

What does Delta Gold Card get you?

On top of bags and boarding privileges, Delta Gold Amex cardholders also get the following benefits: 20\% back in the form of a statement credit when you use your card to buy eligible pre-purchased meals and inflight purchases of food, alcoholic beverages and audio headsets on Delta-operated flights.
