Why should someone not choose the IB program?

Is it worth doing International Baccalaureate?

Overall for me the IB feels worth it and you learn really great things. It’s a great program, just keep your support system on stand by and do all your IA’s and EE early, and you will feel more prepared to study for final exams.

Can you join the IB program in Grade 11?

Some students may write one or two IB exams in Grade 11 depending on school scheduling. The remainder of the exams are written during the Grade 12 year.

What is an IB test like?

In the IB diploma program, each IB course is scored on a scale from one to seven, with seven representing the highest mark possible. Students in the program typically take six courses and must also complete the theory of knowledge; extended essay; and creativity, action, service requirements.

Can I take IB classes without taking the full IB curriculum?

At some schools, students are allowed to take a couple of IB classes without being enrolled in the full IB curriculum. Ask your local IB school’s IB coordinator whether this is permitted; you can find their contact information in our complete list of IB schools in the United States.

What is the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme?

As a brief refresher, the IB started the program in the 1960s to lead to a rigorous, internationally recognized diploma for entry into universities that students all around the world could earn. In the United States today, there are about 970 IB Diploma Programme high schools.
