Missionary Training Centers (MTCs) are centers devoted to training missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). The flagship MTC is located in Provo, Utah, adjacent to the campus of Brigham Young University (BYU), a private university owned and operated by the church.

While in the MTC, your branch president will conduct Sunday meetings, hold personal interviews, and be available to answer questions and help you solve problems. There are 56 branches at the MTC, divided into two districts with district presidencies (the equivalent of stake presidencies).

Sample Schedule for Home MTC

  1. 6am wake up, eat, exercise and groom.
  2. 8am individual study.
  3. 9am companionship study.
  4. 11:30-2:00 classes with district and instructors.
  5. 2-3:30pm break for lunch.
  6. 3:30-7:00pm classes with district and instructors.
  7. 7:00pm dinner with family.
  8. 8:00pm planning and companionship study.

What is online MTC like?

You can expect to have 5–6 hours of online training per day. You can also expect to have personal study, online companion study, and other assigned activities given by your MTC teachers throughout the day. You should expect to be anxiously engaged in study, practice, and preparation.

How long is Spanish MTC?

Missionaries who already speak Spanish will train at the Mexico City MTC for two weeks, while those who are learning Spanish will train for six weeks. After they complete their training, the missionaries will depart for service in Spanish-speaking missions in Central and South America, as well as in the United States.
