Is it important to read classic literature?

Classic literature is important because it opens up a perspective to different worlds and historical perspectives. Reading classic novels has also improved my overall vocabulary and writing skills because writers from an older time period have unique styles of writing.

Why do I like classic literature?

People who are interested in history or philosophy can read classic novels to find out how ideas have changed and how the world became what it is today. Classic novels usually have memorable stories and interesting characters. One of my favourite books is Charles Dickens’ novel Great Expectations.
