Why is the father the first person of the Trinity?
The trinity is made up of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. God the Father is meant to be the beginning love which is why he is the first person of the Trinity. It only makes sense that the Trinity starts with the Father then to the Son and the Holy Spirit.
What the Bible says about the Trinity?
One God in Three Persons The members of the Trinity are co-equal and co-eternal, one in essence, nature, power, action, and will. As stated in the Athanasian Creed, the Father is uncreated, the Son is uncreated, and the Holy Spirit is uncreated, and all three are eternal without beginning.
Why do we pray to Jesus?

He demonstrates how to have more confidence in the Lord and pours out his unconditional love. Through prayer, we see the person God sees when he looks at us.

Do we pray directly to God the Father?
Again, the answer is yes, we pray directly to God the Father because that is what Jesus taught us to do, and yes we pray through Jesus because He is our high priest who has given us direct access to God the Father by His sacrifice and He is now interceding on our behalf before the Father. So when it comes to praying, Hebrews 4:14-15 says it best:
What is the greatness of the father in the Trinity?
In a qualified way, however, it is also possible to speak of a particular greatness of the Father even within the Trinity. While all three persons of the Trinity are co-eternal, co-equal, and equally divine, the Father is the Principium Deitatis (the Source in the Deity).
What is the doctrine of the Trinity?
This doctrine is known as the Trinity. This is why Jesus can both be God and still pray to God (e.g. John 17) because while they share the same being they are different in person. Each person of the Trinity plays different roles in how they interact in the lives of believers and unbelievers alike.
