What is the why question?

“Why” is the question that really exposes purpose (the reason why something exists or is done). How many times do you set off to do something, and if you aren’t stopped and asked, “Why are you doing this?” you don’t really know the answer.

Why do psychologists ask why?

What, how, when, why?

The What-How-Why method is a tool that you can use while observing people to help you dive into your observations and derive deeper levels of understanding. With the What-How-Why method, you start with concrete observations — the What — and from there move to higher levels of abstraction — asking How — and then finally you arrive at the Why—i.e., the emotional drivers behind people’s behaviours. This method is extremely useful for you to analyse images that you might have taken while observing your users.

What is it called when you answer a question with a question?

The most well-known method of seeking knowledge by answering a question with a question is called the Socratic Method. The Socratic method is a method of answering questions by asking questions. Socrates knew at least one thing—that we know nothing, when it comes to thinking we know the answer to anything.

Who, what, when, where, why and how?

5W1H is shorthand for “Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How.” It is used both in problem solving and in project planning. This set of questions is sometimes referred to as the Kipling Method or the “6 Serving Men of Creativity”, due to a poem that appeared in Rudyard Kipling’s 1902 “Just So Stories.” And How and Where and Who.

Use correct grammar. When you ask your question, use the best grammar and pronunciation that you can. Speak clearly and enunciate. This will not only make you appear more intelligent, but it will help make sure that the person you are asking can understand you and what you want to know.
