Is it illegal to make your own Legos?

Anyone can make them in the US. But LEGO has lots of other patents— the “design” of a lot of their bricks is protected, so you can’t use anything too close to certain elements in terms of aesthetics.

Can I sell Lego Minifigures?

Unfortunately, we can’t sell all our minifigures separately. Some of them, such as the figures from Star Wars™, NINJAGO®, Jurassic World™ or THE LEGO® MOVIE™ are “licensed”. That means we can’t sell them individually and they only come as part of a set.

The value of Lego Minifigures varies greatly. Rare minifigures from a popular theme like Star Wars can sell for 5-10$ a piece. More common minifigures sell for about 1$.
