Why is Kasha katuwe Tent Rocks closed?

Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument remains closed due to COVID-19. The Bureau of Land Management in coordination with our partners in the gateway community of Pueblo de Cochiti will be transitioning to a day use reservation system when it is safe to reopen the Monument.

One thing to note for locals or those traveling by car through New Mexico-the park is strict about no dogs being allowed in. The tent rocks can be seen by car from a distance and you can park and walk at their bases and I suggest if you have a decent car do both.

Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument is currently closed to the public. During the closure, BLM has had the opportunity to work on projects to enhance the visitor experience upon reopening. Projects include upgrade to trails to alleviate safety concerns within the monument.
