Yes! You may still assign a recommender to your colleges after you submit your application.

Can I upload my LoR?

If you are not waiving your right to view the LoR (see below), you can upload your personal copy of the letter yourself using the AAMC’s Letter of Recommendation Portal (LoRP). If you waive your right to view the LoR, the letter writer will need to upload it using AAMC’s LoRP.

Can letters of recommendation be sent after application grad school?

Your application is not complete until all recommendation letters are received. Most graduate programs notify students of the status of their applications. Some send emails to students with incomplete applications. Recommendation letters do not always arrive on time — or at all.

How are LoRs uploaded?

In the MyERAS application, applicants generate a Letter Request Form (LRF) for each LoR they are requesting and they provide the relevant author with the form. Authors and/or their designees use the unique Letter ID on each form to upload LoRs for applicants.

Can I submit my grad school application before my recommendations?

You are allowed to submit your application before your counselor or teachers submit their school forms whether they choose to do so online or on paper. The Common Application system allows recommendations to be submitted even after the application has been submitted.

Who can write you a letter of recommendation for grad school?

It is important that a recommendation letter be written by someone who knows you well academically. Faculty members most commonly write letters of recommendation; however, other professionals who know you well and have supervised your work in academia or research may also be appropriate choices.
