Dermovate Cream is a strong and rapidly effective treatment for inflamed skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis. Following this advice gives the cream a chance to work safely and effectively. Dermovate Cream is one of a group of medicines called topical steroids.

How long is it safe to use dermovate?

Treatment should not be continued for more than 4 weeks. If continuous treatment is necessary, a less potent preparation should be used. The maximum weekly dose should not exceed 50gms/week.

Application to the Face: Application to the face is undesirable as this area is more susceptible to atrophic changes. If used on the face, treatment should be limited to only a few days.

Can dermovate be used on broken skin?

Dermovate cream and ointment are not licensed for children under one year of age. Don’t apply the cream or ointment to broken skin or open wounds, or areas of skin affected by any of the following conditions: Viral skin infections, such as chickenpox, shingles, cold sores or herpes simplex.

Where should you not use hydrocortisone cream?

Only use hydrocortisone skin treatments on children under 10 years old if a doctor recommends it. Creams you can buy are not supposed to be used on the eyes, around the bottom or genitals, or on broken or infected skin.

Spray: Apply the solution 2 times daily to the affected areas of the skin and rub in gently. The total dose should not exceed 50 mL in a week, and used for no longer than 4 weeks. Shampoo: A thin film of clobetasol shampoo should be applied directly to the affected area of the scalp once daily.
