What is a motor driver?
What is a Motor Driver? Motor drivers acts as an interface between the motors and the control circuits. So the function of motor drivers is to take a low-current control signal and then turn it into a higher-current signal that can drive a motor.
What is inside a motor driver?
Motor drivers are made from discrete components which are integrated inside an IC. The input to the motor driver IC or motor driver circuit is a low current signal. The function of the circuit is to convert the low current signal to a high current signal. This high current signal is then given to the motor.
How does a line follower sensor work?
The Line Follower sensor gives your robot the ability to detect lines or nearby objects. The sensor works by detecting reflected light coming from its own infrared LED. It can detect transitions from light to dark (lines) or even objects directly in front of it.
How to use Lineline follower Robot?
Line follower robot senses black line by using sensor and then sends the signal to arduino. Then arduino drives the motor according to sensors’ output. Here in this project we are using two IR sensor modules namely left sensor and right sensor. When both left and right sensor senses white then robot move forward.
How many IR sensors do I need to make a line follower Robot?
There are so many cheap IR sensors available online; you can purchase any of them. You will need at least two of them for making the line follower robot. For an ordinary Line follower robot, two IR sensors are enough.
What is the function of motor driver IC in Arduino?
The data from the sensors (IR Sensors) will be given to Arduino and it gives corresponding signals to the Motor Driver IC. Motor Driver (L293D): L293D Motor Driver IC is used in this project to drive the motors of the robot. It receives signals from Arduino based on the information from the IR Sensors.
