In particle and condensed matter physics, Goldstone bosons or Nambu–Goldstone bosons (NGBs) are bosons that appear necessarily in models exhibiting spontaneous breakdown of continuous symmetries. In condensed matter physics such bosons are quasiparticles and are known as Anderson-Bogoliubov modes.
