In some of the games such as Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, you can also see humans in more remote places in Hyrule such as Ordon Village. The branch of Humans known as Hylians have pointed ears. It is essentially their only defining characteristic. They are apparently used to communicate with the Goddesses.
Why is link the only Hylian in Ordon Village?
Even though Link was accepted as a member of the village there would be no need to build another house closer to the village as it was good enough, and the home of his family. There would be no need to change. Generally Link is the outsider that enters Hyrule in all the games that give him some kind of origin.
