Can a computer science student become a radiologist?

Can a computer science student become a radiologist?

Absolutely. I was a CS major and went on to become a radiologist. In fact, for many years, I was a research radiologist in Imaging Informatics so not only can a CS become a radiologist but there are great opportunities to do so. You will have to take the pre-med classes, MCATs and get in to medical school.

Can a computer science major become a doctor?

Absolutely. Medical schools (and law schools) tend to like people with engineering/comp-sci backgrounds as these fields are challenging and students are generally accustomed to hard work.

What is the best major for radiology?

Students who are interested in becoming a radiologist should begin their education by majoring in a subject such as chemistry. Different medical schools have different requirements for admission, but most students will need chemistry (including organic chemistry), physics, biology, and English at a minimum.

What do you need to be good at to be a radiologist?

Radiologists must have an M.D. degree. Medical school will take four years. The first two years will be in the classroom, learning pathology, pathophysiology, anatomy, pharmacology, embryology, human behavior, and biochemistry. In anatomy class, students will be working hands-on with human cadavers.
