Can foreigners join NDA?

National defence academy is a academic/training wing of Indian Army. There is eligibility for foreigners to take admission in this academy through entrance examination. Certificate of eligibility will not, however, be necessary in the case of candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal.

Can we come home during NDA training?

You can leave for your home, however cadets usually go for services camps held at various military establishments. Seniors cadets visit places like goa or manali. Also, you can apply for leave in case of emergencies.

  1. Be a citizen of Japan between the age of 18 and 20, or between 18 and 22 if he or she is on active duty in JSDF, on April 1 of the year of matriculation.

Why are so many cadets dropping out of the NDA?

The back-breaking physical training has led to an alarming number of cadets dropping out of the National Defence Academy. In the 127th course, out of 400 cadets who were admitted in the academy, there were 40, who chose not to complete their course and left midway.

What happens if you fail in the NDA training?

There were instances at my time when cadets got fail in NDA training which is known as Relegation. Cadets who get fail in academics, or physical tests or even on disciplinary grounds, or due to prolonged absence from training are relegated for a period of 6 months.

What is the training given in the National Defence Academy?

The training given for the first 2.5 years in the National Defence Academy is common to the three wings. At the end of the three years, cadets will be awarded B.Sc./B.A. degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi. In the final year, cadets would have specialized training.

What is the rank of a cadet in Air Force Academy?

Air Force Cadets receive flying training for a period of one and half year at Air Force Academy and at the end of 1st year of the training, they are given provisional commission in the rank of Flying Officer. Are mobiles allowed for cadets at NDA?
