Can we join JNV in Class 11?

Navodaya Vidyalayas have no particular Entrance Exam for admissions in Class 11, like they have for Class 6. For admission in Class 11, you have to apply online for JNV Lateral Entry program.

What is lateral entry in JNV?

Lateral entry will be given to the candidates in JNV against the number of vacancies arising under different circumstances. Admissions will be provided into classes IX and XI depending on the number of vacancies, if any. For enrolment into class IX, a selection test (JNVST) will be conducted.

The District-wise vacant seats in the Vidyalayas are separately notified in local newspapers. The merit list will be prepared as per marks obtained by the applicant in the Class–X Board Exam and the admission will be given as per eligibility of candidate and the seats available in the JNV concerned.
