Can we travel to any other planets?

Can we travel to any other planets?

In short, a visit to another planet by a human crew is possible, but some are easier to explore than others. Each planet is different and has a unique set of challenges. For example, the largest planet in our Solar System, Jupiter, is a ‘gas giant’ mainly composed of hydrogen and helium gas.

How long would it take to travel to other solar systems?

Voyager 1, Earth’s most distant spacecraft, left the solar system and entered interstellar space in 2012. According to NASA, it is currently speeding away at 38,200 mph. For Voyager 1 to travel 39 light-years, it would take the spacecraft 685,000 years.

Which planet would you visit and why?

I would most like to visit Mars because it is gas. I would go to Pluto because it is really far away from Earth so it would take a long time and I would be able to see other planets on the way to Pluto. And I would also be able to see Earth from far away! I would go to Venus because I would be the first person on it.

How long will take to go to the Sun?

Here are some fun facts about the distance to the sun: On average, the sun is 93 million miles from the earth. It would take 1,430,769 hours to drive there at 65 miles per hour. It would take 59,615 days to drive there at 65 miles per hour.

How many light-years can we travel?

It’s been 13.8 billion years since the Big Bang, which might lead you to expect that the farthest objects we can possibly see are 13.8 billion light-years away. But not only isn’t that true, the farthest distance we can see is more than three times as remote: 46.1 billion light-years. How can we see so far away?

Will we ever be able to travel at the speed of light?

So will it ever be possible for us to travel at light speed? Based on our current understanding of physics and the limits of the natural world, the answer, sadly, is no. So, light-speed travel and faster-than-light travel are physical impossibilities, especially for anything with mass, such as spacecraft and humans.

Should scientists continue to study interstellar travel?

But Young also argued that scientists should continue to study the problems posed by interstellar travel, and they have. There are a number of ideas for how we could finally escape our solar system, including fusion rockets, which are being perused by a NASA-funded company. However, radiation from these would probably be too toxic to carry humans.

Are the Voyagers now heading out of our Solar System?

They’re now heading out of our solar system. The Voyagers aren’t aimed toward Alpha Centauri, but if they were, they’d take tens of thousands of years to get there. NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft travels at 36,373 miles per hour (58,536 km/h).

Why don’t space travelers go to the stars?

Except the problem is that they’re going nowhere really fast. Each one of these intrepid interstellar explorers is traveling at tens of thousands of miles per hour, which sounds pretty fast. They’re not headed in the direction of any particular star, because their missions were designed to explore planets inside the solar system.
