You can play them in Casual (not a “sanctioned” format, aka no events for it), Legacy, Vintage (I think?), and in EDH (also not a “sanctioned” format, but stores hold events for it, but no DCI rating). Not Standard or Modern, but those formats are pretty expensive.

Can you play standard cards in modern?

Cards from all regular core sets and expansions since Eighth Edition are legal. Timeshifted cards in Time Spiral (even never reprinted in the modern frame), cards from Planeswalker decks, and Buy-a-Box promos are considered legal in this format.

The Modern Horizons 2 set becomes legal for sanctioned Constructed play on its official release date, Friday, June 18, 2021. At that time, it will be legal in Vintage, Legacy, Commander, and Modern. Cards printed in this set will not be legal in Standard.

The colour of this symbol will tell you what rarity the card is; common = black, uncommon = silver, rare = gold, mythic = orange-red / bronze.
