CGNAT is used within carrier and ISP networks to allow the service provider to assign private IP addresses to it’s broadband subscribers and have those translated to a public IP address/port combination for packets going out to the public network.

How do I know if my NAT is CG?

You can check whether you’re on a CGN network by visiting a Web site such as ipaddress.com or whatsmyip.com and comparing the IP address listed to the public/WAN IP address assigned to your Internet gateway. To find your gateway’s public IP address, check the status page in the administrative interface.

To check if your ISP is using CGN you need to connect a PC to the router at Radio QTH. or any similar page which will show from which public IP address your request is coming. If the router shows another WAN IP-address it’s NOT OK, the ISP is using CGN. If CGN is in use the router often shows a WAN IP address like 100.

How do I Opt-Out? If you have a valid reason and need to opt-out of CGNAT you can call our technical support staff on 1300 880 905 and we can opt-out your service. Opting out of CGNAT will result in your unique public IP address changing unless you have a static IP applied to your service.

To check the provisioning status of CGNAT, go to the entry for the Carrier Grade NAT (CGNAT) module and look at the provisioning column. If you want to enable the CGNAT module, select Enabled for provisioning. If you want to disable the CGNAT module, select Disabled for provisioning.
