How long will it take the JWST to get to the second Lagrange point?

The James Webb Space Telescope will not orbit the Earth like Hubble but will in fact orbit the Sun. It will travel for approximately 30 days before reaching what is known as the second Lagrange point, or L2, 1 million miles away.
How does L2 Lagrange work?
L2 is one of the so-called Lagrangian points, discovered by mathematician Joseph Louis Lagrange. Lagrangian points are locations in space where gravitational forces and the orbital motion of a body balance each other. Therefore, they can be used by spacecraft to ‘hover’.
Will Webb use gyroscopes for pointing?
Gyroscopes are used in combination with star tracker assemblies (STAs) to estimate the orientation of the observatory. In the Webb attitude control design, this estimate is used to slew the observatory from target to target, and maintain pointing on a target prior to fine guide and science operations.
Can the James Webb telescope see back in time?
Webb will be able to look further back in time than Hubble or Chandra, two of NASA’s Great Observatories. In the case of cosmology, JWST will be able to detect redder wavelengths than any Great Observatory before it, thereby looking further back in space and time.
