Can bees damage your property?
Bees don’t cause any problems to your property, and nor are you in danger of being stung if they are left alone and unprovoked. Some traits of tree bees can be a cause of concern, but generally there is nothing to worry about.
Can u keep bees in a residential area?
Bees can be kept anywhere from country orchards to urban gardens to small city balconies. It is a common misconception that you need a large garden or countryside nearby. Although this can make siting your bees easier, urban gardens are arguably better. Nectar and pollen can be gathered from a wide variety of plants.

We can’t, in good conscience, say that your bees would never be a bother… but we can say that honeybees are quite gentle, and can make excellent neighbors with proper management!
Can you keep bees near your house?
Stay Out of the House Believe it or not, honeybees are lazy creatures. If they can get food within 10 feet of the hive rather than flying a mile for nectar, you can bet they’ll take it. This suggests that placing bees too close to your home will result in them trying to get into your house in search of food.
Can bees get through walls?
Honeybee swarms initially enter walls through some small crack or opening. A fallen knot hole; a broken spot in the mortar; an opening around a light, faucet or electrical meter; or a gap between the brick and the siding on a house or building makes an excellent entrance site for a swarm of bees looking for a home.
Do you need permission to keep bees?
It’s not worth the risk of keeping bees without permission. You can face stiff penalties for not registering your hive or keeping bees in an area where they’ve been banned. A hive of buzzing bees is not exactly a covert operation, and you’re bees will have trouble flying under the radar.
Are beehives protected?
Honey bees are not a legally protected species, so a honey bee colony or honey bee nest can be destroyed using insecticide; however this does not mean that a colony can just be killed using a can of insecticide. It’s an option but only a small part of the process.
