Why did Legend of Korra show people learning bending from Lion turtles when bending was learned from the moon and specific creatures?

Humans obtained the ability to bending, but they had to learn to do it correctly from the moon and different animals. Bending powers were RECIEVED from the Lion-Turtles, but humans learned how to properly USE it from sources like dragons and Sky Bison.
