Can you use rechargeable and regular batteries together?

Can you use rechargeable and regular batteries together?

You should not combine rechargeable and disposable batteries in the same device. The mismatched voltage can damage the batteries and the equipment they’re used in.

Is it OK to mix rechargeable and alkaline batteries?

Mixing a lithium battery with an alkaline battery will not improve device performance. As well, do not mix different battery brands within a device. Doing so will reduce overall performance and may also cause battery leakage or rupture. We recommend using the same type of batteries within a device.”

Is it safe to mix rechargeable batteries?

Can I mix NiCd and NiMH batteries?

Mixing them for recharging is also a bad idea. If your charger charges two or more cells at once, the Ni-Cd’s will recharge first because of their lower current capacity, overheat and pop their vents ruining the cells. Use either all Ni-Cd or all NiMH, never mix them.

Are rechargeable AA batteries interchangeable?

NiCd and NiMH rechargeable batteries are available in the same sizes as alkaline batteries (AA, AAA, C, etc) and can be used to power the same things as alkaline types.

Can I mix NICD and NiMH batteries?

Why should you not mix batteries?

A: As chemistries and voltage vary across both battery types and brands, we recommend that you do not mix batteries. Mixing of cells can result in battery leakage and sub-optimal device performance.

Are NiCd and NiMH rechargeable batteries interchangeable?

To some degree, Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) is interchangeable with Nickel Cadmium (NiCd) — with caveats. The issues related to replacing NiCd with NiMH are the charge methods, the discharge characteristics (specifically rate capability) and then the effect of both on cycle life.
