I placed the meter leads to one horn terminal and to the wire from the horn button. The OEM horn draws somewhere between 1.5-2 amps. I tried the same with the sickspeed horn and the voltage drop was so high that the horn wouldn’t sound. So, yes a relay is definitely needed.
