Can you act without being in Sag?

Yes, to audition for major projects, you will need a SAG/AFTRA card (although that’s no guarantee you will get those auditions). Your SAG/AFTRA card is just a card that shows you are a member of the TV and film actors union.

What does sag must join mean?

You can work three SAG jobs before you have to join after you’ve become SAG-E. Once you work that third job, you become a must-join. Meaning, you have to join SAG if you book another job.   2. By Phone. Via an automated phone payment system (24 hours a day) at (855) 736-0900.To use the automated phone payment system the member must enter their 8 digit SAG-AFTRA ID number.

Can you lose SAG eligibility?

You lose coverage if: You do not continue to meet the minimum earnings or days worked requirements during your designated base earnings period, or. You do not pay your premium by the required payment date.

When should an actor join the union?

According to the SAG-AFTRA website, any actor who works on a project covered by SAG-AFTRA is eligible to join the union after working either as a background actor for three days, or after one day working in a principal or speaking role.

Can you work with actors who are not in the Guild?

If you’re working with some actors who aren’t in the guild, don’t worry. Under this agreement, those actors are allowed to work with a Taft-Hartley agreement, as with most SAG agreements. The SAG MODERATE Low Budget Agreement applies to films with budgets between $300,000 to $700,000.

Dues payments may be made by cash, check, money order, Visa or Mastercard, in person or by mail to Cashier, Screen Actors Guild, 5757 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90036. How much do SAG actors get paid per movie?

SAG LOW BUDGET AGREEMENT The SAG Low Budget Agreement applies to films with budgets between $700,000 and $2,000,000, making this the SAG pay scale of most independent films. Under this contract, actors must make a SAG day rate of $670, or $2,324 per week. If you’re working with some actors who aren’t in the guild, don’t worry.
