Can wet negatives be saved?

Keep them wet. (whether it is undeveloped or already in negative form), prints and motion picture film may be salvaged, but you must act quickly and carefully. If, however, the prints or film have been submerged in water for several days the emulsion may be in danger of separating from the base. Dry them out first.

Gently rinse both sides of the photo in a bucket or sink filled with clear, cold water. Do not rub the photos, and change the water frequently. Time is of the essence, so as soon as you can arrange adequate space, lay each wet photo face-up on any clean blotting paper, such as a paper towel.

When you’ve uncurled the photo, place a piece of wax paper or parchment paper on top of the image. Fold the extra bit of blotting paper over the wax paper to cover it. Place a heavy book or some other heavy objects on top of the photo. Keep the photo like this for a few days so it can dry.

Your best bet is to go look on google or yellow pages for photography labs in your area. If you don’t have negatives, but an old exposed cartridge of undeveloped film, these need to be developed first before prints can be made. Again any photo lab can do it.
