How do you clean sealed parquet floors?

Use a mop, water and commercial cleaners that are designed for parquet floors to gently scrub the floor clean. The trick is to use as little water and cleaner as possible, to prevent water damage, and not to scrub too hard, to prevent scratches and other damage. Only use this technique on floors that are sealed.

Can you mop polyurethane floors?

Maintenance of your polyurethane-coated hardwood flooring should include regular dust mopping & damp mopping only; do not wet mop. We suggest using only steam mops, or damp mopping using distilled white vinegar, or glass cleaners heavily diluted with water to clean your flooring.

We haven’t used oil poly in a long time. If your floors are finished with oil polyurethane, there is no traffic AT ALL for a minimum of 24 hours after the job is finished.

What do you clean polyurethane with?

We recommend wiping with a damp cloth, either using soap and water or a natural based cleaning solution. Most standard cleaning solutions contain either an alcohol or ammonia base, which over an extended period of time, can eat through the finish. At Grain Designs we also use low sheen urethane finishes.
